Scooter Lights

Sometimes when I am out and about with the camera I see things that I wasn’t expecting. Sometimes they make for an interesting photo.

I was just aimlessly walking around, when I spotted a scooter. It had lots of chrome, and was very colourful. However, when I tried to photograph the whole scooter, the picture looked too crowded. There was far too many things to look at, so much so that I thought viewing this sort of picture, people would get lost. So I decided to go with the following:

iPad Photography App

I have an iPad. I have been waiting to get an iPad for ages, and thanks to Father Christmas I am now a proud owner of an iPad4. As well as helping my commute to and from work pass quickly, I was very interested in the photography apps and the idea of being able to process my photos on the move.

I had heard of one app, called Snapseed, which happens to be a free app. It has the usual tools to edit photos, Saturation, Contrast, Brightness, Clarity. It allows you to straighten photos as well as cropping them. It also has a number of filters that you can run on your photographs.

This photo was shot in colour, and using Snapseed I converted it to Black and White. However, it didn’t quite have the “aged” feel that I was looking for, so I played with the “Drama” filters on Snapseed, and ended up with the above image.

I have tried a number of different photography apps on the iPad, and up until now, Snapseed is still my favourite.
